§ 1. General Provisions

  1. These Terms of Service govern your use of the website operated by Urban Pulse Media Inc. and any related services. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Regulations and our Privacy Policy.
  2. The service provider is Urban Pulse Media Inc., located at 3200 Robie St, Halifax, NS B3K 4P7, Canada. These regulations are made available to all Users free of charge via the website in a form that allows for its downloading and saving.
  3. The User is obliged to use the Platform in a manner consistent with applicable law, principles of social coexistence, and respect for the rights and personal goods of other persons. The posting of unlawful content is prohibited.
  4. All intellectual property rights to the content available on the Platform, including articles, photos, and graphics, belong to Urban Pulse Media Inc. or its licensors and are protected by law. Unauthorized use is strictly forbidden.

§ 2. Definitions

  • Platform – The online news portal available at urbanpulse.media, operated by Urban Pulse Media Inc.
  • User – Any natural person, legal person, or organizational unit using the services provided on the Platform.
  • Account – A user-specific profile created upon registration, allowing access to subscription-based services and features.
  • Services – All services provided electronically by Urban Pulse, including access to articles, newsletters, and other content.
  • Regulations – This document, specifying the terms and conditions for using the Platform and its Services.

§ 3. Type and Scope of Services Provided

  1. The Platform provides access to journalistic content, including articles, analyses, interviews, and reports. A portion of the content is available for free, while full access requires a paid subscription, which constitutes the primary service. The subscription grants unlimited access to all content.
  2. Users can register for a free Account to manage newsletter subscriptions. Creating an Account requires providing a valid email address and creating a password. The agreement for maintaining an Account is concluded for an indefinite period.
  3. The paid subscription service is provided based on a separate agreement concluded upon payment. Details regarding subscription plans, pricing, and payment methods are available on the 'Subscribe' page of the Platform.
  4. Urban Pulse reserves the right to temporarily or permanently modify or discontinue the Services, in whole or in part, with or without notice. We are not liable to any User or third party for any modification or discontinuation.

§ 4. Technical Requirements

  1. Proper use of the Platform requires a device with internet access and an up-to-date web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) with cookies and JavaScript enabled. The Platform is optimized for modern devices.
  2. The User is solely responsible for ensuring their equipment meets the necessary technical specifications to use the Services.
  3. Urban Pulse is not responsible for disruptions, including interruptions in functioning, caused by force majeure or unauthorized actions of third parties.

§ 5. Rights and Obligations of the User

  1. The User agrees to provide true, accurate, and current information during registration and to keep it updated. The User is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their Account password.
  2. The User may not use the Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. Users agree to comply with all local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content. The dissemination of spam or malicious software is prohibited.
  3. All content on the Platform is for personal, non-commercial use only. The User may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or in any way exploit any of the content in whole or in part without prior written consent from Urban Pulse Media Inc.
  4. The User has the right to terminate the agreement for maintaining an Account at any time by deleting their Account. Subscription cancellations are governed by the terms specified at the time of purchase.
  5. Any complaints regarding the operation of the Platform should be submitted electronically to the email address provided in the contact section. Complaints will be processed within 14 business days.

§ 6. Final Provisions

  1. Urban Pulse reserves the right to amend these Regulations at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
  2. Any disputes arising from the provision of Services will be settled by the competent court for the registered office of Urban Pulse Media Inc.
  3. In matters not covered by these Regulations, the relevant provisions of Canadian law, particularly the laws of the province of Nova Scotia, shall apply.
